Ramona gives her time to help keep our Port Melbourne and Sandridge beaches free of plastic litter, making them cleaner and safer for everyone to enjoy by volunteering with 3207 Beach Patrol.
Ramona is passionate about maintaining a healthy marine environment for the birds, the fish & all the animals and creatures that call the bay & surrounds their home. She says its “ sad that we (as humans) pollute their home, causing them unnecessary harm and even death. They are innocent creatures and have done nothing to create this mess yet are forced to deal with it and the consequences. Giving my time means that I can make a difference, no matter how small it may be. And my hope is that a ripple effect will be created and we (as humans) will change our ways and rectify the problems we’ve caused in our marine environment.”
3207 Beach Patrol helps to look after the precious inner-city Port Melbourne beaches, 3207BeachPatrol conducts a clean along one of its 5 stretches of beach every month. The bright blue tee shirts of the volunteers make for a colourful addition to the beaches once a month on Saturday mornings. Anyone can join. 3207 Beach Patrol volunteers pledge to give a minimum of one hour voluntary cleaning of the beach each month. Visit the 3207 Facebook page for more relevant information and articles.
